Friends of Wydale

Who are the friends?

Friends are people who would like to keep in touch with Wydale and are often guests who have stayed at the Hall or the Emmaus Centre. They have discovered, enjoyed and appreciated the special atmosphere of the place and wish to support the work and ministry of Wydale. Friends are normally individuals, although a number of parishes have become a 'church friend'.

What do friends do?

The Friends support Wydale with their prayers, practical help and subscriptions. The help to publicise Wydale, encouraging new people to visit, particulary those who have never been and who, they feel, would benefit from its peace and beauty.The friends also organise various fund raising events during the year, Funds raised help to purchase items of equipment and furnishings as well as additional comforts for the guests. Some Friends are able to give some of their time and expertise to sew and mend, help in the garden or help with other specific pieces of work.

How can I become a Friend?

Please download and compkete the enrolment form. It is also possible to Gift Aid your subscription which costs you nothing but enables the Friends to reclaim tax from the Inland Revenuew.

Friends will receive

  • Twice-yearly Friends Newsletters containing reports on all that is happening at Wydale, including details of Wydale's Programme.
  • An invitation to the AGM (when the Friends Committee is elected) and to any other event being organised by the Friends.
