Do you want to explore how using the Creative Arts can expand your prayer life and give renewed vision for your continuing walk with God? Or is this already part of your life and the luxury of exploring it further in the prayerful atmosphere and beautiful grounds of Wydale is very appealing? No previous experience or ability is needed and there will be inspiration and guidance from both leaders. This is time to experiment!
We will use collage, together with a variety of simple creative materials, but feel free to bring along your own tools and materials if you wish – you may also find yourself inspired to do some creative writing during this time! There will be no pressure or expectation to produce ‘works of art’ – your individual response to God made in a way that reflects you is what counts! Come and be surprised, take time aside to reflect, to grow, to explore, and to delight in God’s presence.
Claire Watts has been running creative events for the past 10 years. She is married to Brian and together they lead a Congregational Church in mid Devon. Claire loves to inspire people who use creativity in new ways, to surprise themselves with what they didn’t know they could do, and to find release in the process.
Mildred Butterworth is a Church of England Priest who retired from parish ministry in 2011. She was Chair of the Prayer and Spirituality Group for the Diocese of Wakefield (now part of the Diocese of Leeds) until 2013. A trained Spiritual Director, she is interested in Ignation spirituality and is becoming increasingly drawn to contemplative prayer. She enjoys exploring the connection between spirituality and creativity and encouraging others to do the same.
